Information about the workshop on idiopathic generalized epilepsies, held in Antalya, Turkey on October 3-6, 2008, is presented. Themed "Bridging Basic Science and Clinical Research," the event discussed several topics such as the mechanisms of generalized seizures and the concept of idiopathic epilepsies. Geneticists, neurobiologists and clinicians studying idiopathic generalized epilepsies (IGEs) participated in a forum to discuss data and concepts from research on the disease. |
