| Abstrakt: |
The article reports on whether molecular technology should replace urine cytology. It states that there are new molecular techniques available such as the nuclear mix protein (NMP)22 and the bladder tumor antigen tests, that can help the urologist diagnose malignancy in patient with hematuria. The urologist is unlikely to cease using cystoscopy in the hematuria clinic, but it maybe time for them to consider urine cytology which will provide more ease and less cost for the same outcome. |
