The article presents a case study of an old woman who was brought to the hospital with flu-like symptoms. The patient had a history of asthma, allergic rhinitis, and depression. Before admission, her medications include montelukast sodium and fluoxetine, and she takes red yeast rice capsules twice a day. She has undergone a liver biopsy which shows moderate acute and chronic lobular inflammation. Her condition improved clinically with cessation of red yeast rice ingestion. |
