Abstrakt: We wish to present two simple innovations--an instrument for TOT and a technique to fix a ureteric catheter 1. Transobturator Tape is an established technique for treating stress incontinence. The instrument used for introducing the tape is quite costly. Hence the total cost of the procedure goes up markedly. We wish to describe a simple instrument devised by us which can be easily used to introduce the tape. It costs less than one thousand rupees and can be autoclaved for repeated use. 2. We often keep a ureteric catheter in the ureter after procedures like URS or for Instillation therapy for Chyluria. Routinely a Foley catheter is introduced by the side of the ureteric catheter and the ureteric catheter is then brought in the channel of the foley catheter. The foley catheter and the ureteric catheter are tied by a tape or by a thread. In this way a good part of ureteric catheter lies outside the body increasing the risk of ascending infection. We wish to describe a technique in which the ureteric catheter lies inside the foley catheter completely right from the bladder and drains in the collecting bag. Thus a closed system of drainage is established with decreased risk of ascending infection. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
