Abstrakt: The article discusses the synthesis of two series of poly(L,L-lactide-b-ethylene glycol-b-L,L-lactide) copolymers consisting of polylactic acid and polyethylene oxide, PLA-PEO-PLA. They were synthesized by polymerization of L,L-lactide using a dihydroxy-terminated poly(ethylene glycol) (PEG) as coinitiator and stannous 2-ethylhexanoate, Sn(Oct)2 as initiator. Observations by 13C nuclear magnetic resonance analysis (NMR) determined that the synthesized copolymers displayed high stereoregularity. A solvent diffusion method and the self-assemblage process were used to prepare the nanoparticles, and they were characterized by NMR and scanning electron microscopy (SEM).
