The article focuses on the transcription for guitar of Fernando Sor's "Marche funèbre" for harpolyre. The author notes that the score calls for a number of notes down to an A one octave below the fifth string, so the music seems accessible to a ten-string or to an eight-string guitar with the bass tuned to A. He adds that the piece is also playable on a modern six-string instrument with certain bass notes raised an octave. The musical notation for the piece is also presented. |
