The article focuses on China's administrative region Macau and South Korea's Jeju Island. Both regions have similarity because they are considered free ports with populations around the half-million mark and both have shady pasts that previously held back their gaming markets. In addition, Macau and Jeju enjoyed a renaissance with credibility in their gaming sectors buoyed by the arrival of foreign casino-operating expertise. |
