| Abstrakt: | The article focuses on the comic father figure in Lope de Vega's Spanish drama. It provides information on Lope's dramatic productions which the critics prefer to concentrate on the plays which are widely accepted as being among the best. It discusses the famous Spanish drama commedia dell'arte and the character of Pantalone, a classic, wealthy Venetian citizen. Information regarding the influences of the Spanish comedy drama is also discussed. |
