Information about several papers discussed at the University of Iowa Theatre Department's conference on Masks of the Theatre is presented. It is said that numerous presentations centered on commedia dell'arte themes, as well as on descriptive traditional processes of making commedia leather masks and contemporary techniques using papier-maché and thermoplastics. The conference featured several mask artists including Robert Faust, Ralph Lee and Joan Schirle. |
