Abstrakt: Chapter Thirty-Fourth of the book "Woodstock; or, The Cavalier" is presented. It explores the purpose of the old Royal Lodge at Woodstock which is called a labyrinth or a connected series of subterranean passages built by Henry II. It stresses that the tradition and some historical evidence confirmed that the Royal Lodge was built for the security of Henry II's mistress, Rosamond Clifford, from Queen Eleanor.
