Chapter 49 of the book "Peveril of the Peak" is presented. It relates on the courtesy of Charles I before the king's chamber who called him to advance hastely forward. It also highlights the private conversation between the countess and Julian Peveril as well as the celebration of the Castle blaze high over the hill and dale and summoned all people to rejoice who were within the twenty miles of its gleam. |
