The article focuses on the multi-user virtual environment called Second Life (SL) which will allow the International Year of Astronomy 2009 (IYA2009) to have a dynamic presence in the virtual world. Accordingly, many populations are attached to the notion that SL residents are real life geeks or anti-social personalities in the anonymity the virtual world. The presence of the IYA2009 in the SL will be realized through the support of Instellar Studios and Steward Observatory. |
