The article provides views from several people on how sustainable land management can contribute to mitigating climate change. A professor from Clark University in Worcester, Massachusetts says that managing land resources can help through the creation of landscapes that have low greenhouse gas emissions and conservation of landscapes that are natural sinks for carbon dioxides. A professor from the University of Gronigen suggests that improving resilience is a key factor to sustainable land management wherein rural population plays a key role. While a faculty member from the University of Waterloo in Canada suggests agroforestry land management practices. An economist and a doctor both agree that conservation agriculture (CA) is a key strategy for sustainable land management. |
