The article discusses the natural antioxidant α-tocopherol (α-Toc), focusing on the use of molecular imprint polymers (MIP) to separate α-Toc derivatives. Α-Toc is a natural antioxidant, the article states, and can be used in food preservation and disease prevention. Topics include separating α-Toc from complex mixtures of structurally-related compounds and the formation and use of highly selective absorbents. Also discussed is molecular recognition and binding of targets by polymer materials. |
