The article reports on the Top-Performing Companies (TPC) study in 2008. The companies that rank highest are the ones that took advantage of the boom to become leaner and more competitive. They wrung out costs, integrated far-flung operations, paid down debt, avoided overpriced acquisitions and instituted cultures of continuous improvement. BAE Systems ranks sixth with revenue greater than $5 billion. It is followed by B/E Aerospace with revenue between $1-5 billion. |
