The author reflects on Serbia from the years of 1987-2000, when Slobodan Milošević was president of Serbia, focusing on Milošević's use of propaganda to facilitate his regime's hold on power. Three phrases that the author attributes to Milošević are analyzed including "Kosovo is the Cradle of the Serbian Nation," "Forces of Chaos and Insanity," and "Unjustified and Undeserved Sanctions," with special focus given the manner in which Serbian public opinion was, in the author's view, molded. The true intent of political events during the Milošević era, from the author's viewpoint, is also discussed. |
