The article discusses a study which aims to quantify in a population of diabetics in a tertiary care hospital in India, the level of knowledge with respect to different areas pertaining to the prevention and treatment of linked complications. It notes that the country was declared as the diabetic capital of the world by the World Health Organization (WHO). It cites that the knowledge of the patients regarding the treatment and complications of diabetes demonstrated serious deficiencies, more so among women, even though most had been diabetic for years. |
