A set up consisting of a rotational rheometer and a mechanical oscillator is presented which is able to perform rheological measurements by parallel superposition measurements of a macroscopic shear rate and a very small oscillation. The basic model equations are shown and first measurements with Newtonian fluids are presented. The oscillation makes use of small amplitudes (<100 nm) which allows a practically interference-free measurement. This set up makes it possible to measure the viscosity from zero constant shear rate to the usually used constant shear rates. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR] |
