| Abstrakt: |
The article presents a historical overview of research on school readiness programs in the U.S. It examines early program models developed during the mid-1960s as part of the U.S. War on Poverty and the Economic Opportunity Act of 1964 as well as contemporary programs developed in response to the National Education Goals 2000 initiative. Contributions from neuroscience, examination of early learning environments, and teacher quality are also discussed. |
