The article presents a discussion between senior leaders in the U.S. Army regarding cuts and acceleration of the Future Combat Systems ( FCS ) program. Full funding was requested by the FCS but only $200 million was recommended by the fiscal year 2009 defense authorization bill. Financial solutions which include reprogramming of funds will be considered. The leaders will also improve FCS technologies by accelerating the iRobot Small Unmanned Ground Vehicle and the Honeywell Micro Air Vehicle. |
