Abstrakt: The article presents study on hypertension in the U. S. It mentions that in the country, African-Americans have lower hypertension control rates than other Americans. The study aims to examine social and cultural factors in the control, awareness and treatment of hypertension on Dallas County, Texas. Data from interviews and on blood pressure were analyzed using multivariate logistic regression. Information on 1,514 hypertensive patients aged from eighteen to sixty-four were studied. The study found that among African-American men, perceptions on good health contribute to the control of hypertension.
