Abstrakt: The article examines the long history and tradition of Native American quilting. It notes that Native Americans first learned quilting through contact with European American culture. In addition, historians also found that African Americans and Hispanic people had slightly influenced patterns, construction techniques, and uses in the process. Meanwhile, the author continues her discussion by citing several evidences to explain the development of the craft. She also notes the exhibition "To Honor and Comfort: Native Quilting Traditions" to be held at the Heard Museum in Phoenix, Arizona until April 15, 2001.
