Abstrakt: The article examines the life and works of painter Ralph Fasanella. It explores his family background and career which started in the 1940s during one of the United Electrical, Radio and Machine Workers of America organizing drives. Fasanella began to paint using cheap poster paints on cardboard to create scenes of his neighborhood and street scenes near his apartment in Greenwich Village, New York City. His works were first exhibited at the A.C.A. Gallery in February and March 1947. Information on the materials used and the techniques employed by the artist in doing his artworks is provided.
