Abstrakt:	The article presents a pleiotropic approach to the genetics of the musculoskeletal system. The article begins with an overview of the evidence that physical exercise effects the adult skeletal system. Reasons why there are pleiotropic relationships between bone structure/mass and muscle mass/function is provided.
