Regulatory and political concerns continue to discourage transatlantic consolidation, as evidenced in Air France-KLM's decision against investing in a combined Delta and Northwest. According to industry sources, Delta's management became increasingly concerned that a potential Air France-KLM investment could weaken its negotiating position with labor and in efforts to see the merger with Northwest approved by the U.S. Congress. |
