In this article, the author of identifies the projected energy demand for the U.S. and the future contribution of renewable energy to this demand. The author also answers the question of whether renewable energy can replace fossil fuel energy. He assesses the potential of renewable energy resources in the country, including wind energy, hydropower, geothermal energy and nuclear power. He claims that the country has tremendous wind energy potential and is starting to take advantage of this valuable resource. He also notes that the U.S. is the largest generator of commercial nuclear electrical power in the world. |
