The article reports on the American Society for Testing & Materials (ASTM) International which formed a subcommittee for the standardization of combined concrete materials. The subcommittee finished its C1679 standard "Practice for Measuring Hydration Kinetics of Hydraulic Cementitious Mixtures Using Isothermal Calorimetry" to address the issue of lack of standards on combined building materials. Scientist Paul J. Sandberg who helped develop the satnadard comments on the need for establishing practices in examining the compatibilities between various materials. An overview of the standard is provided. |
