Abstrakt: The article presents the study results on habitat factors as measured by plant production. Several important aerial and edaphic ecological factors such as rainfall, water and nutrient content of soil, humidity, evaporating power of the air, soil and air temperature, and wind movement are being assessed and compared during three growing seasons at Lincoln, Nebraska, Phillipsburg in north-central Kansas and Burlington in eastern Colorado. The results also determine the plant production of native grasses and smaller cereal crops by means of the employment of a large number of cut metre quadrats. It also indicates that the plant yield at each station on different seasons associated with fluctuations in the water relations.
