The article reports on the struggle of 946 international graduates and 85 Canadian medical school graduates to avail for the remaining 121 spots of the residency match in Canada. Canadian Resident Match Service executive director Sandra Banner explained that two of the slots are designated for international graduates while the remaining 119 are open to either Canadian or international graduates. Banner noted that most of the practices in the 121 remaining residency positions are in family medicine and that the overall number of available residencies is higher than in 2007. |
