Abstrakt: The article offers information on flammability considerations for raised-surface apparel. It states that for cotton raised-surface (RS) apparel, the most common method for meeting the General Wearing Apparel (GWA) standard is to blend cotton with synthetic fibers. Relative to this, many companies would prefer 100% cotton raised -surface garments that pass the GWA flammability tests rather than relying on fiber blends to control flammability. Moreover, the Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC), an independent federal regulatory agency, implements the federal flammability standards under the Flammable Fabrics Act. INSET: Editor's Note.
