The article discusses the controversy associated with the role of the American press in the Vietnam War. It analyzes the validity of the two controversial images played by the press in the Vietnam war, which include press as a challenger of the lies of government officials and press as having played out, through its own distortions, misrepresentations and weaknesses. It explores several criticisms on the press' conception and performance in the Vietnam War. It also explores the perspective and intensive analyses on the three engagements' coverage of the Vietnam War from six different papers. Moreover, the article concludes that the press was likely influenced by government. |
