Abstrakt:	The article discusses the nature of American Catholicism, as well as its political aspects. According to the author, with the return of peace to the world in 1919, the church, in cooperation with other institutions, helped the reconstruction of the social fabric. Soldiers were provided a gainful employment and peace time industries were replacing war manufacturers.
