Abstrakt: Since the early 1980s Greece is a society that is defined by cultural diversity. From that time until now there has been a continual but fluctuating influx of "foreigners" of contrasting characteristics: economic immigrants from ex-soviet union countries after the collapse of that state, pontians from ex-soviet countries, economic immigrants and political refugees from mostly eastern Islamic countries. Thus problems of discrimination, social exclusion and racism against the Gypsies, Albanians and other refugees, as well as against members of the Muslim minority are rather intense in Greece. This study aims to explore Greek pupils' representations abouts their immigrants peers. We used a verbal association procedure and the sample consisted of 300 (N) Greek pupils. The pupils described the pupils with three words and a feeling towards four different words and a feeling towards the Albanians, pupils from ex-Soviet Union countries, the Muslims and Gypsies. The implicative statistical analysis shows the implicative relations between the variables and similarities of the words to the total number of the variables. Results show both positive and negative attributions. In particularly, Greek pupils show feelings of hate towards the Muslims, fear towards the Albanians and aversion towards the Gypsies in their school. However, they have a certain liking for their schoolmates from the former Soviet Union. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
