Abstrakt: The article describes the case of three teenage athletes with Salter-Harris III distal femur fractures and proposes a mechanism of injury related to the sequence of closure of the distal femoral physis in the teenage patient. The authors found that Salter-Harris III fractures of the medial femoral condyle are rare entities and that they have many similarities to juvenile Tillaux fractures of the distal tibia. The authors also found that the pull of the medial collateral ligament (MCL) and posterior cruciate ligament (PCL) on the medial femoral condyle during valgus stress may initiate a fracture.
