Abstrakt: The article presents a study which examined the irradiation effects on the microstructure and mechanical properties of silicon carbide. The study revealed that surface irradiations resulted in damages affecting thickness in the composite. Macroscopic swelling also happened as a result of the microstuctural modifications with the step height increases from 47 nanometer (nm) to 83 nm and stabilizes with increasing fluence.
