Abstrakt: The article presents a study on the effect of carbon additions and boron carbide particle size on the microstructure and properties of boron carbide- titanium diboride composites. Higher measured values of Young's modulus, flexural strength and Knoop hardness were caused by using the smaller grain size Tetrabor powder, V4-V6. Lower fracture toughness values occurred by using larger grain size PAD powder, V1-V6. Reduced Young's modulus, bend strength, Knoop hardness and fracture toughness were the effect of increasing carbon additions to V1-V6.
