Abstrakt: The article discusses a study on the intermittent chemotherapy in patients suffering from metastatic androgen-independent prostate cancer (AIPC). According to the authors, survival in patients with metastatic, chemotherapy-naive, AIPC is improved 10 to 12 cycles of docetaxel-containing chemotherapy but further management is undefined. During the retreatment process, the majority of patients again respond to treatment or their PSA levels stabilized.
