The article focuses on a study which aims to identify potential molecular mediators and biomarkers for osteoarthritis (OA) through comparative proteomic analysis of articular cartilage tissue from normal donors and patients with OA. It notes the use of Gene Ontology and Ingenuity pathway analysis tools to characterize proteins into functional categories. The research concludes that altered protein expression in the disease state is associated with several aspects of the pathogenesis of OA. |
