The article presents views and insights of the authors concerning the environmental history of the Great Lakes. Great Lakes are at once representative of the larger narratives of both the U.S. and Canada. They are also fundamentally important in their own right for their industries, environments, and abundant resources. The authors also discusses the factors that influenced the collapse of Great Lakes commercial fisheries between 1880 and 1930. regulations help the fisheries. American fishermen flouted regulations in both countries by crossing the border and plying Canadian waters. |
