| Abstrakt: |
The article reviews argumentation as a prelude to introducing articles on that topic in the current issue. In computer science terms, argument refers to the process by which two intelligent, autonomous agents reconcile conflicting goals. Early applications of argumentation technology appeared in expert and tutorial systems. The Advanced Computation Laboratory at the Imperial Cancer Research Fund was among the first to deploy the technology. Subsequent applications evaluated risks to health and safety. |
