The article cites a research which explores the role of basophils and mast cells in acute and late reactions in the skin. It states that mast cells, like blood basophils, have high affinity receptors for immunoglobulin E (IgE) and are involved in IgE dependent allergic reactions. It discusses late-phase response (LPR) as a delayed inflammatory process involving the skin and/or the airways. |
