An ATF Tracking Servo LSI for 8mm VTR by Mixed Analog and Digital BiCMOS Technology.

Abstrakt: A one-chip automatic tracking finding (ATF) tracking servo LSI for 8-mm VTR use has been realized by applying mixed analog and digital BiCMOS circuits. A main factor which has prevented the LSI from offering a one-chip solution for the ATF tracking servo system was analyzed. Difficulties in it have been solved by applying new BiCMOS circuits to the LSI. Also, it is shown that the simplification of a circuit and an improvement in the performance and its functionality are achieved by applying a new BiCMOS circuit to a formerly complicated circuit. The LSI with these new BiCMOS circuits is fabricated in a 3-μm design rule BiCMOS process. Consequently, one-chip LSI realization of an ATF tracking servo system has been achieved, resulting in less than ±1.3 percent center frequency variation in a 46.2-kHz second-order bandpass filter with 30 Q value, less than ±50-mV offset voltage in a subtractor, zero droop current in a sample and hold and 18-dB voltage gain in a demodulator.
