Conducting effective therapy with clients from different cultural or ethnic backgrounds may involve therapist creativity in addition to cultural sensitivity. The authors review a clinical case study of a marginalized immigrant Latino couple in which rituals and family traditions were creatively employed to produce therapeutic change and facilitated the cultural education of an Anglo therapist.
