Abstrakt: Cognitively impaired older adults often exhibit behaviors such as hitting, screaming and wandering. The cause of these behaviors is complex and includes psychosocial factors such as past personality and life experiences. This paper presents a method for assessing psychosocial history that is derived from the Need-driven Dementia- compromised Behavior Model. The use of these data for designing activities that respond to dementia-related behaviors is illustrated. [ABSTRACT FROM PUBLISHER]
