Abstrakt: Assisted living residents' concerns regarding their occupational performance are reported. Researchers interviewed twenty-two residents from four different assisted living facilities using the Canadian Occupational Performance Measure, a tool assessing concerns with valued life activities. Most common concerns were lack of desired active recreation, mobility, and passive recreation. Residents attributed identified concerns to physical health conditions and vision, along with facility features. Differing styles of life acceptance, degree to which residents felt like the facility was home, and degree to which activity options were meaningful vs. just “keeping busy” were themes that emerged.
