Abstrakt: The article comments on the four-point transatlantic consensus on U.S. missile defense, proposed by defense experts Ivo Daalder and Christopher Makins. Both Daalder and Makins believe that missile defense should be embedded in a broad anti-proliferation strategy, as well as should be geared to defending against small missile threats from small states, not Russia or China. They add that any missile defenses should also be deployed only when they are proven to work and should be made in cooperation with Russia.
