The article offers information on the effects of mercury on the rat kidney glucocorticoid receptor (GR) with heat shock protiens (Hsp) 90 and 70. A study was conducted to determine the levels of GR, Hsp90 and Hsp70 isoforms in the renal cytosol, in relation to GR heterocomplexes ummunoprecipitated by anti-GR antibody. The result of the study showed that the mercury increased the connection of GR to several Hsps. Mercury led to an increase of Hsp level in the cytosol, it also stimulated the Hsp interaction with GR. It is found out that GR heterocomplex assembly is a controlled process related to the physiological demand of rat kidney GR. |
