The article provides an overview on the political events in the 28 European countries in 2000. It discusses the three exceptions focused on the European Union (EU) like the commonality revolved around the Economic and Monetary Union (EMU) and the decision of EU to impose sanctions on Australia as way of showing disapproval of the inclusion the Freedom Party in the national government. Two graphs depicting the composition of the cabinets in the 28 European countries at the end of 2000 and the country report elections and institutional changes as of 1991-1999 are presented. |
