| Abstrakt: | The article reports on a survey on the political attitudes of senior officials in the New Zealand Department of Health (DOH) and three out of four existing Regional Health Authorities from April to May 1993. The survey aimed at the information that can contribute to the expanding international research concerning the attitudes of both politicians and government officials in Western democracies and to examine an intuitive perception resulted from the conduction of research for an earlier project. Results revealed that the restructuring of the New Zealand health system was designed according to the Treasury-based policy prescription. |
