Abstrakt: This article presents a study regarding the chlorhexidine-based antiseptic solution and alcohol-based povidine-iodine for central venous catheter care. Of 538 catheters randomized, 89.4 percent produced evaluable culture results. Compared with povidone-iodine, the chlorhexidine-based solution was linked with a 50 percent decrease in the incidence of catheter colonization. The findings show that chlorhexidine-based solutions should be considered as a povidine-iodine formulations to prevent catheter-related infection.
